Perfect by Rachel Joyce

This is a novel about, among other things, time, circumstances and not so perfect lives . Unlike previous Rachel Joyce novels I found it hard to warm to the characters. I found the references to electric shock therapy to help with mental health issues, popular treatment in the 1960’s, interesting since I have come across this in my own family. Although ‘Perfect’ made for uncomfortable reading at times, it really hit home with the issues around mental health and well being.
