The Room on the Roof by Ruskin Bond

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A coming of age novel full of teenage angst that also, for me, invoked a huge nostalgia for India. Didn’t realise it was a modern classic written in the fifties. I was drawn in by the trendy cover, which just goes to show the value to publishers of re-running old classics with new, modern covers.
