On my work journey this morning I passed these two Sussex gems:
The Belle Toute Lighthouse
This decommissioned lighthouse is near Beachy Head in Eastbourne. Its been a home and is now a hotel. It’s been a location for TV and film including Fat Weldon’s The Life and Loves of a She-Devil and James Bond The Living Daylights. In 1999 it was moved back in one piece from the cliff edge to stop it becoming a victim of coastal erosion.
The Litlington White Horse:
This is a chalk figure of a horse cut into the South Downs in the 19th century and because if the white chalk and it’s size can be seen from a distance.
These never fail to make me smile as a drive past.
