Bridgetown Barbados has a Jazz scene to rival New Orleans. I arrived in Bridgetown and hit the ground running with an evening at The Waterfront Jazz bar with my boyfriend and fellow band members. The Jazz was proper Dixieland showboat, the band a bunch of older guys jamming together. The beer was cold, the food delicious, traditional Caribbean and the music jumping and pumping. I had arrived in Barbados!
Speaking to a taxi driver the next day, another top jazz venue in Bridgetown is Lobster Live, apparently frequented on Sunday afternoon jazz sessions by the likes of Cliff Richard and Simon Cowell. Noted for next time!
