Further to my review in an earlier post it was fabulous to meet the author of The Sand Dog, Sarah Lean today and learn about the different processes of writing a children’s novel; the research involved, the (horrendous) editing process and the publishing. For me the thought of all the editing is plenty enough to stop me ever wanting a write a novel. It’s difficult trying to get a blog post right. However Sarah claims to love, after she has got over the initial offence of someone criticising her work, ‘making something good into something fabulous’, which I thought was an encouraging way to put it.
